Welcome to Phoenix Aid

Phoenix aidis a small UK registered charity, no 1103938, currently active in Bosnia since 2002.

We give hope for a better future to individuals, families and the community.

Phoenix aid looks to improve quality of life and enable people to overcome difficulties by providing a wide range of therapy training to volunteers from healthcare services, schools, hospitals, disabled groups and war victims associations.

In addition we seek out, research and promote employment opportunities for the unemployed and for self employed crafts people, and look to enhance opportunities for people in rural areas.

Phoenix aid provides grass roots training and certification in complementary therapy techniques to enable local therapists, or other interested volunteers, to treat people within their own communities. This has proved to be of great use and a great success for many groups of people of all ages. We have worked with war victims, ex soldiers, civil victims of war including rape camp internees and bomb blast survivors, as well as children in orphanages and special needs schools, and residents in adult special needs homes. Some of these treatments have been so effective it has enabled some of the recipients to reduce the medication taken for their conditions or illnesses.

Developing phoenix-aid services

Phoenix aid is constantly searching for new contacts in Bosnia through community and other associations where our services are needed. For these people our therapies may be the initial step they need to help them move on from the traumas they have lived through to a more fulfilled and purposeful life.

We are looking to identify health and other professionals in Bosnia, the UK and worldwide to help us in our work. If you are interested in helping us as a volunteer please contact Sarah Greenwood, Development Officer, phoenixaidsarah@gmail.com
